Is Aperture Papers open access?

Yes. All articles are published open access under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, and authors retain copyright.

What are the Article Processing Charges (APCs)?

APCs are quote-based. During the founding period a 50% waiver of the Standard APC applies automatically to every accepted manuscript. Special hardship and student first-author waivers are available on a partial, case-by-case basis — Aperture Papers does not offer a 100% APC waiver. How long does peer review take?

Our target initial decision time is 4–6 weeks after assignment to handling editor, with a fully double-blind workflow and a minimum of two independent reviewers.

Which file formats are accepted at submission?

We accept PDF, DOCX, or zipped LaTeX source files. Figures should be supplied as separate high-resolution files (PNG, JPG, or TIFF).

Do you assign DOIs?

DOI registration is being set up with a recognised registration agency. Until that is live, accepted articles are issued a stable Aperture Papers identifier and a permanent URL. This page will be updated as soon as DOI assignment is in place.

Is the journal indexed?

As a new publisher we are working toward inclusion in major scholarly databases. Indexing applications take time and depend on each service's editorial criteria; we will list confirmed indexing here as it becomes active rather than promise it in advance.

How do I report a publication ethics concern?

Email the editorial office at editorialoffice@aperturepapers.com. We follow COPE guidelines for investigating allegations of misconduct, authorship disputes, and post-publication corrections.

Can I submit a preprint?

Yes. Manuscripts previously posted to a recognised preprint server (bioRxiv, ChemRxiv, arXiv, etc.) are welcome. Disclose the preprint DOI/URL in the cover letter at submission.

How should I format references?
