Overview

About the Journal

Letters in Basic and Translational Biochemistry (LBTB) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by Aperture Papers. The journal welcomes original research, concise reports, and methodological contributions across biochemistry and molecular biology, with particular interest in work that links fundamental mechanism to translational outcomes — including enzymology, metabolism, protein chemistry, molecular and cellular biochemistry, and mechanism-based studies relevant to health, disease, diagnostics, therapeutics, and biotechnology.

LBTB is intended for academic researchers, postdoctoral scientists, clinician-investigators, and graduate students whose work advances biochemical understanding or its translational application. All manuscripts are evaluated under a double-blind review process and, on acceptance, published under a CC BY 4.0 licence with authors retaining copyright.

Defined Timelines

Editorial screening within seven days; structured double-blind review with documented backup-reviewer rules.

Open Access, CC BY 4.0

Every accepted article is freely readable, citable, and reusable with attribution. Authors retain copyright.

Independent Review

Two independent reviewers drawn from biochemistry and molecular biology, anonymised by the editorial office.
